Its Sunday morning. ….EARLY Sunday morning and Jayne and i are off to Olympia for the twice-yearly trade show for the retail fashion sector. This is where we do some of our buying and where we keep an eye out for new brands and designers.

Its always exciting looking for the newest brands that our customers will love as much as we do. its also a bit scary too…….puting your money where your mouth is can be risky.
What if our customers don’t agree with us?
What if they don’t buy?!!
We find a great little spanish brand that might fill the ‘wedding’ gap. our hearts sink whenever we hear those words ‘i’m looking for something for a wedding’!!!
pure july 2011 012We love our little shop and we believe we’ve got a great selection of brands.
Our strength lies in daywear that can be ‘dressed up’. We do have the occasional smart or dressy outfit but in the main its definitely not tiaras and ball gowns at dawn!
i won’t tell you the name of the brand just yet as that would spoil the surprise!!
We also ordered some great stuff from our regular suppliers; fabulous boots from J shoes, jeans from Jonny Q, and a gorgeous collection of outfits from the newest of our brands, both of which are doing amazingly well. Myrine and Me and NU Woman.
We take the opportunity to shoot over to the Kings Road and visit the SCOOP show at the saatchi gallery.
Palladio are showing all their brands at this show and its a great chance to catch up with sean and his team.
We’ve been customers of Palladio for all of our 8 and a half years from the days of essentiel and d’exterior to today when we buy hartford, twin-set and european culture.
We book showroom appointments with them and look forward to seeing the collections again in the more peaceful surroundings of Newnham Terrace in a couple of weeks.
So, home we go. our buying for autumn/winter 2012 has well and truly started.
…all in all a good day.
